Akkineni Sreekar Prasad is a legendary Indian film editor with over 600 films edited in 17 languages. A literature graduate from the University of Madras, he learned editing from his father in Telugu cinema. He rose to national fame with iconic films like Dil Chahta Hai, Yuva, Talvar, Alaipayuthey, Kannathil Muthamittal, RRR, and The Goat Life (2024). With a career spanning over three decades, he holds a record 9 National Film Awards (7 for Best Editing), along with multiple Filmfare, Nandi, Kerala State, and DIFF awards. Sreekar is also featured in the Limca Book of Records for editing films in the most number of languages and was honored as ‘People of the Year 2013’. He’s one of the most respected editors in Indian cinema.
